Projector turns off after a few minutes? Cooling problem.

Why does the projector suddenly go out?

The sudden shutdown of the device during projection is most often a defense mechanism against overheating. Projectors have temperature sensors that cut off the power supply to prevent the matrix from melting or the motherboard from getting damaged.

Main causes of overheating

  • Seized fans: Fan bearings dry out over time, causing them to spin slower or make loud noises.

  • Clogged air ducts: Dust forms a "carpet" on the air inlet and outlet.

  • Improper placement: A projector enclosed in a tight recess has no way to dissipate heat.

H3: How to check what is wrong?

If the LED flashes in a specific sequence after shutdown, check the user manual – error codes often indicate which specific fan has failed. Replacing the fan in the projector is a routine but essential repair that saves the device from complete destruction.

Prevention is key

Don't wait until the projector turns off during an important match or presentation. Regular cooling service and internal cleaning are the cheapest ways to ensure years of trouble-free equipment operation.
